About this overlook
The overlook offers spectacular views of Grandfather Mountain and the Linville Valley. Flat Rock is a prominent outcrop of quartzite located on the western slope of Grandmother Mountain. Nearby, the Flat Rock Trail is a leisurely 0.6-mile, self-guiding loop that winds through the surrounding forest.
